Overview

The Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) is a federal block grant program created by Congress in 1974. CDBG-funded projects must satisfy 1 of 3 national program objectives: 

  • Provide a benefit to low- and moderate-income persons
  • Prevent or eliminate slums and blight
  • Meet needs having a particular urgency

City activities include: 

  • Public facilities and improvements
  • Fair Housing
  • Housing rehabilitation
  • Public Services

CDBG Subrecipients / Public Services

The City has awarded FY 2023-2024 CDBG Public Services funds to the following organizations: 

  • Domestic Violence Advocate Program 
  • East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless
  • Family Service Center
  • Graffiti Removal Program 
  • Pride Program
  • Redeemer Food Bank
  • Youth Employment Program
