SOC Community Empowerment Grant - Youth Sports Organizations

Measure BP Stakeholders Oversight Committee (SOC) adopted several Investment Opportunity Categories and one of the categories is City and Community Empowerment.  This category is intended to foster and support self-driven initiatives at the community and organization level to enhance the quality of life of all residents by implementing projects and programs that directly or indirectly benefit the city residents. 

At the August 13, 2024 the SOC Regular Meeting , the Committee approved to implement the Community Empowerment Grant Youth Sports Organizations (Non-Profit).  

Purpose: The Community Empowerment Grant aims to support non-profit youth sports organization within Baldwin Park by providing funding to enhance their programs and services. 

Grant Details

Eligibility: Must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit, primarily run by volunteers, and serve Baldwin Park youth. 

Funding Limit: Up to $5,000 per organization per fiscal year July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

Use of Funds: Equipment, supplies, travel, special training, and facility upkeep.  Note: No salaries, scholarships, or debt payment.

Disbursement: Funds are reimbursed with an option for an advance payment of up to 50%. Receipts and proof of payment required.

Award: Recommendation of award will be made by the SOC for final approval by the City Council.

Requirements

  • The project must benefit Baldwin Park residents.
  • Funds must be spent with the fiscal year July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
  • 70% of program participants must be Baldwin Park youth.
  • Organizations must enter into an agreement with the City detailing Fund use and indemnification.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY OCTOBER 31, 2024 AT 5:00 P.M.
