Candidate Information

Candidate Qualifications

All candidates must be 18 years of age, a Citizen of the United States, and a registered voter residing within the city limits at the time nomination papers are issued.

Candidates must wait until the nomination period begins to obtain a nomination packet.

Nomination Period - Is now CLOSED

The nomination began Monday, July 15, 2024 through Friday, August 9 at noon*. The last day to file is Friday, August 9, 2024. 

*If an incumbent does not file nomination papers by August 9, 2024 the nomination period will be extended to 5:00 p.m. on August 14, 2024. 

Nomination Papers

 Nomination Papers were available on the first day of the nomination period.  The Chief Deputy City City, Shirley Quinones, is the elections official, who issued nomination papers.

Candidate's Handbooks

Candidate's Handbooks were made available on the first day of the nomination period to all candidates.

Campaign Reporting Requirements

The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) provides free, expert advice on their website, via email, or by calling 866-ASK-FPPC (866-275-3772).

All campaign forms and most manuals and instructions are available on the FPPC website.
