Message from the Chief

My name is Robert López. I retired at the rank of Commander from the Los Angeles Police Department in 2018 after forty years of service. I was fortunate to have worked a variety of assignments, including patrol, gangs, homicide, administrative, patrol captain, and ultimately retiring as the Commanding Officer of Force Investigation Division.

I consider myself to be very fortunate to have been selected and given the distinct honor of being the Chief of Police for the Baldwin Park Police Department.

I have great respect for the men and women of our Department who work tirelessly to keep Baldwin Park residents safe. I want you to know that all Department personnel, from our officers, detectives, dispatchers, records clerks, traffic officers, to our administrative staff, are committed to helping make a difference for our great community.
