Redevelopment
As a consequence to the California Supreme Court decision on Assembly Bill 26, effective February 1, 2012, the Baldwin Park redevelopment Agency ceased to exist.
In 1974, the Baldwin Park Redevelopment Agency was established to pursue the elimination of physical and economic blight in designated Redevelopment Project Areas and for the preservation construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing. Over the years, the Agency adopted the San Gabriel River redevelopment Project Area, Puente/Merced Redevelopment Project Area, West Ramona Redevelopment Project Area, Central Business District Redevelopment Project Area, Delta Redevelopment Project Area, and Sierra Vista Redevelopment Project Area. Please click here for a brief description of each project area.
Several projects were successfully completed and created new businesses and jobs while eliminating blighted areas. Please click here to view completed projects.
Following with the dissolution of the Agency, below are links to the Successor Agency to the Dissolved Community Redevelopment Commission of the City of Baldwin Park unwinding of the affairs of the former Redevelopment Agency:
