Teri G. Muse Family Service Center

The mission of the Teri G. Muse Family Service Center is to provide a central facility for non-profit agencies offering social, health, and human services to the residents of Baldwin Park. Services include various types of counseling and health programs for individuals and families.

Counseling

Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit support group that assists with common problems associated to substance abuse. Ongoing group sessions are open men and women. Evening sessions are offered Mondays at 7:00pm at the Family Service Center. For more information, please call (626) 813-2570.

Gamblers anonymous is a fellowship of (age 18+) men and women who share their experiences, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from a gambling problem. The only requirement is a desire to stop gambling. Free evening sessions are offered on Thursday's from 6:30pm - 9:00pm at the Family Service Center. Project SISTER is an agency dedicated to providing services to the women, children, and men survivors of domestic violence and abuse in he East San Gabriel and Inland Valleys of Southern California. Project SISTER works with local law enforcement, district attorneys, courts, hospital and health care providers, schools, churches and other  community groups and agencies. The Family Service Center will be hosting several Citrus College Kinship/Foster Parenting Workshops. The programs consist of a free workshop series to strengthen children and families in the community. Participants who attend the program receive foster parent certification. Free weekly meetings held on Tuesday & Thursday 6:00pm - 9:00pm at the Teri G. Muse Family Service Center. Health Services

California Mental Health Connection is a nonprofit support group that helps individuals and families to provide therapy for victims of crime and care for those who suffer from mental illness with complex trauma, and/or co-occurring disorders to alleviate emotional pain. Individuals must call the following number (626) 430-6197 for appointments and questions.

On Site Services

The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center offers transportation assistance for individuals who need assistance for case management, non-medical emergency, food shopping/ food bank, job search, medical and shelter. All transportation assistance is on first come first serve basis and individuals are eligible only once per month. For additional information contact the Family Service Center office.

The hygiene program is offered to ALL individuals and families for Free every Monday - Thursday 11:00am - 5:00pm. Eligible participants may receive items such as toiletries, baby supplies and any other personal hygiene items that are available. All hygiene items are available on the first come first serve basis and individuals are eligible only once per month. The Family Service Center accepts donations of good used clothing that is in wearable condition. Clients can access the used clothing bin on Mondays from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Clients are allowed to take as much clothing they need, providing they can use it.

It is our goal to improve the quality of life for our residents especially in a time of crisis or difficult personal challenge. With this mission, we have partnered with several new agencies that share the same goal to reach the Baldwin Park community. The following agencies have been providing services at the Family Service Center since Spring.

The Family Service Center is proud to announce a partnership with Kaiser Permanente for a reading program. The program is open to children in 1st and 2nd grade. The programs focus is on children on the enjoyment of reading and improvement in their writing and vocabulary. The Program meets Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:00pm to 4:30pm.
