As part of the Economic Development Division’s efforts to assist with business retention and expansion, staff routinely networks with organizations that provide various business assistance services.  These services can include assistance with obtaining business loans, access to consultants, assistance with business plans, trainings and workshops, access to data, assistance with meeting hiring needs and site selection.  Below is a list of some of these business service providers.
TELACU Community Capital (TCC) is a nonprofit community lender that serves the small business community by providing loans to small businesses and providing technical support through workshops and trainings.  As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) TCC has access to various funding sources to assist with a number of business needs including loans for working capital, inventory, commercial real estate acquisition, and machinery and capital equipment.

The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) is a private, non-profit 501c3 that works to attract, retain and grow businesses and quality jobs for Los Angeles County residents.  Some of the services offered by the LAEDC include business assistance and layoff alternatives, economic research and analysis and assistance with site selection.
University of La Verne Small Business Development Center (La Verne SBDC) – As a federally sponsored program the La Verne SBDC is able to offer various business services at little or no cost to you.  These services include business consulting and training.  Click here for additional information.
SCORE is a nationwide non-profit organization founded in 1964 and is a resource partner for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  SCORE, which is primarily staffed with volunteers, provides mentoring services, informational workshops and seminars for small businesses.  There is never a charge for mentoring services and although some workshops may carry a small fee to recover cost, most are also free.  For additional information and to contact the East San Gabriel Valley Chapter, call (626) 593-1120 or click here.
The San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership is a non-profit organization that provides guidance on doing business in the San Gabriel Valley.  It provides resources, assistance, and support to businesses and organizations with the goal of enriching the economic vitality of the San Gabriel Valley. The organization's main website, which is translated into Chinese and Spanish, includes an extensive library of economic data and reports.  Businesses can also obtain information on San Gabriel Valley's key growth industries, major local companies, colleges and universities, and basic demographic and economic data.

The Baldwin Park Business Association is a membership nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization whose mission is to promote and improve the local business environment, stimulate a vibrant local economy, and promote a cooperative effort to enhance the overall quality of life in Baldwin Park.  This mission is accomplished by providing networking events, marketing opportunities, community connections, training and educational opportunities and establishing a website for public and member use.

Held every 2nd Thursday of the Month from 7:45am - 9am at various locations throughout the city.  This event offers presentations on current affairs affecting the quality of life in Baldwin Park and offers the opportunity to promote business.
Lunch with the Baldwin Park Bunch
Held every 4th Tuesday of the Month from 11:30 am -1pm at various restaurants throughout the city.  Use your lunchtime as an opportunity to network with other businesses and community leaders.
