Transportation Program The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center offers transportaion assistance for individuals who need assistance for case management, non-medical emergency, food shopping/ food bank, job search, medical and shelter. All transportation assistance is on first come first serve basis and individuals are eligible only once per month. For additional information contact the Family Service Center office. Hygiene Program The hygiene program is offered to individuals and families every Thrusday. Eligible participants may receive items such as toiletries, baby supplies and any other personal hygiene items that are available. Donated Clothing Distribution Bin The Family Service Center accepts donations of good used clothing that is in wearable condition. Clients can access the used clothing bin on Mondays from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Clients are allowed to take as much clothing they need, providing they can use it. New Agency Partners It isour goal to improve the quality of life for our residents especially in a time of crisis or diffucult pesoan challenge. With this mission, we have partnered with several new agencies that share the same goal ti reach the Baldwi Park community. The following agencies have been providing services at the Family Service Center since Spring. Fiesta Educativa Inc Fiesta Educativa, Inc provide residents free education classes on Autism. The Autism Parent education program (APEP) is offered twice a month in English and Spanish at the Family Service Center on Saturday's. The program will educate parents the sign of an autistic child, parenting a child with autism as well as show parents how to apply for Regional Center services. Almansor Clinical Services Almansor Clinical Health Services provides mental health services for current clients and prospective cients who qualify for their program. Clients who are eligible for services must be between 5 years old to 17 years old and qualify for full Medi-Cal coverage. Goodwill Industries of Southern California Goodwill Industries of Southern California has returned to the Family Service Center to coordinate an employment training program called Youth Opportunity Program. The Family Serviceprovides office space and works wilt Goodwill Industries to recruit youth agede 15 to 21 years. The Youth opportunit Program prepares young people to write resume, prepare for a job interview, mentoring services and onthe job training. While job placement is not a promise, many youth find employment after one year in the program. In addition, Goodwill Industries will be providing a variety of workshops to help deal with current economic crisis such as resume writing, interview skills and job search strategies.
