Olive Pit Quarry Project

UPDATE: On Wednesday December 3, the Irwindale City Council unanimously voted to certify the Environmental Impact Report and approved the project.  In addition to Baldwin Park City staff speaking and submitting report in opposition of the project, eight Baldwin Park residents also spoke in opposition to the Olive Pit project. The actions of the Irwindale City Council will become effective on January 2, 2015, or 30 days following last night vote.

On Wednesday November 19, the City of Irwindale Planning Commission held a public hearing for consideration of an Environmental Impact Report (Final EIR) to re-activate the mining operation of the Olive Pit.  Following Irwindale staff and consultant presentations, the Planning Commission voted unanimously (5-0) to recommend approval of the Final EIR to the Irwindale City Council at their next meeting Wednesday December 3, 2014.
